  1. LOl I really can't wait to see the gangsters, they seem like they have a much greater before. Are you going to do it squad vs. squad this time or 1 v 1? Also I am really happy that you are updating regularly, as I enjoy matchups such as these. Oh and i've finished all weapons/offensive powers for Sarah vs. Anakin, now the categories should be a little easier.

  2. Perhaps I should update my older match ups for Blog-spot. That way those of who did not see them before can enjoy, while those who have can enjoy the videos and images that will go with them! :) What do you guys think?

  3. @Northern: By all means go ahead, but my experience with this match was that there was so much that needed to be changed that it quickly became an overwhelming project that I was forced to take a break.

Unless you just copy and paste, be aware that there will be some significant effort involved. I can only speak for myself, but when I tried to update this the first time I quickly grew tired of the concept since I had already "been there, done that."

@ Fan: I have actually done some research on this, and it seems that semi-automatic rifles are more commonly used as illegal weapons than I though before (the AK has the slang name of Chopper). The assault weapons ban actually expired several years ago, and for about half a decade high-capacity magazines (the real target of the ban) have been widely available for sale. In addition, AK knock-offs are available as well in sporting goods stores around the country, but only in semi-automatic (I could theoretically buy a WASR-10 (AK knockoff) w/ extended mag for about $800, not to say I would want to, but look it up).

However, the sale and possession of true automatic weapons is still tightly restricted under a law that dates back to the Great Depression and a different type of Gangster.

It would theoretically be possible for a semi-auto weapon to be modified to be automatic, but I doubt that most Gangstas have the expertise, or frankly the need to do this as all rapid fire does is draw attention and the swat team. In a tense gang firefight, you don't want your weapon to run out of ammo under any circumstances, either.

In conclusion, while I was initially reluctant to feature semi-auto assault rifles in this sim, I now believe the evidence is there to include them in a limited role (as a weapon of a few high-ranking warriors in the group.) Due to its heft and noise, it is by no means the end-all and be all for either side, but it does have its uses.

As for the molotovs, they are easily made and are already in the Gangsta weapon set. Pipebombs, on the other hand, are so dangerous and illegal that I reckon only wackos in backwoods militias would even think of using them, let alone carry them around.

  4. It's easy- first look up the name of the youtube video you want to upload. then, at the top of the edit window on the blog, there is a director's cut icon. Click that, and select from youtube. from there, you can search for the video you want to put in.

  5. Thanks. I can finally add the finishing touches to my posted Intro. Now about updating my older match-ups, in your opinion, should I just keep the scoring system (similar to the show's) that was originally used, or try creating the kind that you, afanofsparta, and almost everyone else are using? The Simulations/battles I will (try to) keep in their original form, while the (warriors and weapons) info I'm probably going to readjust or add on.

  6. In my honest opinion, Sparta's system (somewhat based off iHonk's but slightly different) has been perfected by us bloggers who actually care about reasonable measurements of a Warrior's capabilites. There is a reason the everyone uses the same system- it's because it works really well. I'll admit any day to copying Sparta's idea, but I don't think a better system of scoring could be devised, except for Thrand's, which is demonstrated below:

"Note the advanced rendering and Graphix as well as state of the art calculations.
Please Note Combat Simulator was created by Ugg in B.C sometime and revised by Thrand 9th century till now." -Thrand

LOLZ but seriously, use the system that is the best, and in my mind that is Sparta's system. The only difference between it and the system that iHonk and Marek use is that those two announce the score of the weapon when it's first being covered, which I disagree with. (I like to reveal them after the sim to keep up the suspense.)

Feel free to adjust whatever you want in your matches, but all I can tell you is that once one weapon profile has been expanded they all have to be for consistency's sake, and this I feel takes as much work as creating something from scratch!

By the way, have you ever read my first draft of my Redneck/Gangsta Thug match? I'll admit it's dated, but you may want to take a look at it if you are interested in how I got my start, and my writing style at the time. Compare the Redneck bio then to now to see how I have progressed as a blogger.(my future sims will be a LOT better........)

  7. Oh, here is the link to it:

You can see that the difference is enormous, and when I first wrote this I completed it in just two days, and I thought it was a massive accomplishment, which it was for being done so quickly! No wonder I tired myself out when I actually tried to do detailed weapon profiles the second time around!

I overworked myself to the point that my hobby had become my burden, and I lost interest for a few months. Nowdays, I stick to a set schedule and I try to put out one well-made weapon profile every day or so to avoid burnout. Remember, the more time you put into your work the better it will become. Just keep this in mind when you redo your weapons, as I don't want you to repeat my mistakes. Just pace yourself, and give every entry the time it deserves. Whether or not you want to put this work into matches you have already covered is up to you, I'm just trying to give my own suggestions
